Street Address History:
Earlier street address 97 W Clinton St.
The city renumbered its streets in 1899 using the hundred block system (see Crandall City Engineering Map, 1893, revised 1902).
There is no direct translation o 601 to the old street number ont he 1893 or 1899 Crandall maps.  On the 1889 Beers map, Scanlon is listed on a house in the middle of S Corn St.  By 1893 S Corn St no longer extends south of W Clinton St.  In the 1898 city directory Scanlon is listed at 97 W Clinton St and in the 1899 city directory at 541 W Clinton St, however there is no 541 on either Crandall map and by the 1901 city directory that number had changed to 601 W Clinton St.
