“Long Island developer Jeffrey Rimland has proposed to build an eight-story hotel at the eastern end of The Commons in the triangular spot of land surrounded by the Rothschild’s building, Aurora Street and Green Street. The land is currently a surface parking lot….
The complication is that to meet city setback requirement, the development requires the city to sell a small, 2,000-square foot strip of land near the edge of the sidewalk on Aurora Street to the developer.”

Krisy Gashler, “Long Island developer plans hotel for downtown,” Ithaca Journal, February 21, 2008, 1.
