"Originally built as a neighborhood station to house hand- and horse-drawn fire equipment, Fall Creek's Fire Station No. 7 could soon be a private home and an art studio...
The station was the last of the old firehouses that used to serve neighborhood volunteer companies and house horse-drawn pumpers. The city decommissioned it in 1996 when the engine housed in it was nearing the end of its useful life. The newer engines that would replace it wouldn't fit into the small station.
