Description
This building was likely demolished sometime after the fire of 1874 and before the 1888 Sandborn map which shows the property being used for storing lumber by the lumber yard and planing mill across the street.

This part of S. Aurora St had odd numbers before the 1878 Ithaca directory and even numbers starting with the 1878 Ithaca directory.

In 1910, Driscoll Brothers built a new 3-story brick building at this location to house their office and additional indoor lumber storage.

“Every man who reached the fire, appeared to work to the very best purpose, and the result was that the building was saved and a disastrous conflagration prevented….
The building contained nothing but the bare machinery. Mr. Stoddard had vacated it and removed all his stock last November.”
