Though they were not enumerated on the 1920 census, the Spauldings lived at 501 W Green St in 1920.

"This is a 2-story, clapboard sided, early 20th century residence with a front facing gable. An open porch spans the front façade. Its roof is supported by simple square posts. The balustrade is made up of simple square balusters. There is a smaller side porch and a 2-story bay on the west side of the house. The windows are 1/1 double-hung sash. The house was constructed after 1904.

Established African-American occupancy/ownership during the period of significance: 
1920 – Levi Spaulding, first African-American police officer in the City of Ithaca, served 1919 – 1930. Prior to that he was a barber."
